Who am I?
Dancer. Teacher. Manager. Barista. Son. Designer. Traveller. Owner. Renter. Facilitator. Yogi.
So often in our lives, we like to define ourselves by what we do. When we meet new people, a common question is, “What do you do?” We give ourselves names, categorize our preferences, sometimes become focused on maintaining a certain image of ourselves.
But more often than not, these names change. As the names and preferences continue to change- sometimes over years, sometimes over minutes… I begin to ask myself if there is a better way to define ourselves.
Sometimes defining ourselves by what we do can be quite limiting- especially when what we do can change so vastly and quickly. So what if we begin to shift our focus from what we’re doing and instead move it to how we’re living?
When we settle into being content with the content of our lives, what we do becomes secondary to how we’re living it.
And maybe by placing some more emphasis on how we live instead of what we do, we can arrive at an answer that flows into the infinite possibilities of who we are.
So, who am I?
Honestly. Authentically. Passionately. Creatively. Playfully. Mindfully. Lovingly…
Living.
I’ll take those over names or titles any day.
Check out some more detail on how I’m living below, and then take a moment to ponder: Who are you? Or rather, how do you live?
Lovingly,
Kevin
