Episode 2
Towards the end of 9 rounds of Surya Namaskar A with Prostration, it can be nice to start playing with Adho Mukha Vrksasana. The intention here is not to stick and hold a handstand, but rather to simply begin playing with rooting the fingers wide and deep and also flipping the perspective a bit for the practice and day ahead- allowing ourselves to see things from different angles.
After finishing these, we move on to Uddyana Bandha Kriya and/or its more advanced version Agni Sara. In these cleansing exercises, we relax the muscles of the abdominal region and manipulate the diaphragm to squeeze pressure in and out of the lower belly chamber. In addition to massaging the organs from the inside, this is a way to settle into a deeper sensation of Mula and Uddiyana Bandha that will aid in understanding the prana in/around the body in a more visceral way. As a side note: these are advanced practices that should be explained and practiced in person with a knowledgable teacher before attempting for the first time. But the sooner you find one and get started, the sooner your body will thank you!
